Formosa AI is an Australian AI company building practical AI for the businesses that keep Australia running. Like a pine cone, we add one seed at a time. The client list stays deliberately short, so every relationship has room to be looked after, and the centre stays empty for the next one to grow into.
Our operating principle is simple: we are our own first customer.
Every system we sell runs inside Formosa AI first, starting with addEASE, the booking assistant answering this very site. We find the awkward edge cases on our own time, not yours.
Behind the scenes, Formosa AI runs on AI agents, the same kind of systems we install for clients. The word doesn't matter. The work getting done does.

The world's biggest AI companies now station engineers inside their enterprise customers, because they've learned what we learned: AI doesn't land by itself. Someone has to work inside the business, understand how it actually runs, and fit the tools to the process rather than the other way around. The industry calls that role a forward-deployed engineer. Those teams are built for corporations. Nobody builds them for small business.
That's the layer we serve: one engineer, working inside your business, landing AI into the processes you already run. And behind it sits one responsibility. Formosa AI's job is to make sure your business and your work never become information silos: knowledge locked in one person's head, or in systems that can't talk to each other, is work you end up paying for twice.

Zeal has spent more than fifteen years in the engine rooms of businesses he didn't own. It started with client websites at university, with design and marketing around them. Then came a Master of Business Information Systems in Australia, and years inside companies in different countries, in business systems roles with marketing and design in the mix, working with owners from every kind of background. That is enough time to know where the hours quietly go, and which work should never be handed to a machine at all. The logo is the business plan.
A pine cone never draws a blueprint. It repeats one small rule (add a seed, turn a little) and ends up with one of the most efficient structures in nature. That's what our AI does for a business: find the small rule your week already repeats, hand it to a system, and let the results compound.
The pine cone also lends its name to the pineal gland, the pea-sized part of your brain that keeps your body's rhythms running without ever being asked. That's the role AI should play in a business. It answers, books, chases and reminds, quietly and on time, while the thinking stays yours.
Ours has thirteen seeds because that's the studio we're building: a short client list, with room around every relationship. And the centre stays empty on purpose. In a pine cone it's the growth point. Here it's the space we keep open for whoever comes next.

- Every seed turns by the golden angle, the most irrational angle there is, so the pattern never repeats and no seed ever lands on another's line. In studio terms: every client lands in clear space, and no two plans are copies.

- The square root keeps every seed's share of the area equal, however many there are. In studio terms: the tenth client gets the same room as the first.
- 8, 13, 21, 34…
- Count the spiral arms and you always get neighbouring Fibonacci numbers. A pine cone counts 8 and 13. You never see the rule itself, only the order it leaves behind. Good automation works the same way: you don't watch it running, you count what it gets done.
